Hi Kathy,Thanks for starting this thread! I know I'll be particularly interested in the application of gaming to instruction, and appreciate that you'll be addressing how to do this on the cheap! Do you find this valuable? |

Hi KathyYour session at the FoL conference was quite interesting. Are there any recommendations for the games you find most effective for library users (children) up to 13 years old. Do you find this valuable? |

That would depend on the type of program that you want to do. There are a wide variety of games and thirteen year olds. If you want to have a general gaming program; it is good to have a variety of games and formats which cater to different tastes. For children, you could use the Disney version of Dance Dance Revolution, Connect Four, Checkers, UNO and/or Mario Kart Double Dash. You can also include any of the popular trading card games, such as Pokemon, which also means you don't have to supply the game. Children bring in their own cards and you provide the space. There are many other possibilities, but it is good to stick to games which allow participants to take turns quickly and encourage socializing.
